CTD precision problem corrected, new file online |

The exchange CTD problem brought to our attention by Diana Spiegle arrose due to a precision problem in the original WOCE formatted CTD file. Although the exchange CTD code was rerun for this cruise by K. Uribe, the problem was persisted.
I have corrected the CTDSAL precision problem in the original WOCE formatted CTD file (station 316, the salinity missing values were larger than WOCE format allowed) and have rezipped the CTD files and replaced the previous zipped file with the newly edited file.
Exchange code will be run on the new zipped file to correct all column value and flag problems for levels 474-526 in station 316 file.

CTD files were re-run as a response to an email from Diana Spiegal. Note that ar15_k_316_00001_ct1.csv contains a set of levels from 474db to 526db where suddenly there are no flags and the values look very odd. Missing column was added to the CTD files.

CTD has been converted to exchange format. Station 06MT28-2S316C001.ctd had bad values on several rows. The formatting for -9.0 was off, it contained extra 9 and 0. The extras were eliminated and file was successfuly converted to exchange and put online.

Bottle file was modified to be converted into exchange format. Stations/Casts in original bottle file are in increasing sequence, in sumfile however every Station has a 1 for a Cast value. The bottle file was modified to fit the sumfile. The new version of the bottle file is in original directory. CTD could not be converted to exchange, problem as of file 06MT28-2S316C001.ctd.

I have edited the sum, bottle and ctd file headers to comform with the correct cruise and leg number and the correct WOCE line number as per mailed letter from Walter Zenk dated 05/09/00. All newly formatted files have been placed online and previous files moved to original directory. Specifics of header reformatting can be found in 00_README file in the orioginal subdirectory for this line.

I fnished processing the data obtained during the cruise METEOR 28/2.
I can ftp the data to you, the filename is 'm282.tar.gz'. The size of the file is 492338 bytes and it contains the doc-, hyd- and sum-file as well as 44 ctd-files.
The data will be free to use from October 1998 on.
